Worst Game We’ve Ever Played On ROBLOX

Well, I truly don’t even know how to start this one off folks. I noticed this game I’ve seen a couple times before, but this time it stood out more, as it had a remarkable 148,000+ players in-game @ 12:06 AM [PST]. A game pulling numbers like that should be rather good, right? Not quite..

Welcome to Brookhaven RP – the dulled down version of Brookhaven RP. This game literally made me question the years of development I’ve put into serious projects of mine. I played this game to have a somewhat insulted nostalgic feeling. As it reminded me of “City of ROBLOXia” – or I believe that’s what it was called, by 1dev2. Just uh, a sad 2021 version I suppose? Well, let’s get right into this one.

The game starts off having me believe that it may possibly be a more enhanced “Bloxburg.” Which I would like to note, I played this for a couple minutes prior to this. Though I left as I had some editing to do for our first episode release of Season 1 for Blox News. So with it having such an introduction making me believe it could possibly be impressive, I went right into checking out the houses!

Digging Into The Development,

I’m not going to lie, I was a bit excited to dig right into the housing. As you can see, I utilized their “Character Customization” GUI. Which of course, is always a good catch for “poor” players that can’t afford good clothing on ROBLOX’s Avatar Shop (Catalog.)

I guess I was cold? Or oddly cleansing myself.

All of this excitement immediately turned into disappointment. I got right into my apartment / house just to discover I could have made the same exact housing system in a matter of an hour of grinding on ROBLOX studio. Oh don’t worry, the owner claims to be the only developer [SOURCE:]

Wolfpaq (The owner of Brookhaven RP)’s ROBLOX Profile status.

However – upon further research, which can be done by any player. We discover that the 2 people he is following are co-developer’s. With this, I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if he hired modelers. Which I couldn’t find anything on the devforum, because would you believe it? This man doesn’t even have a Devforum account, which is a tad bit strange for a viral ROBLOX Developer.

So, let’s get back on topic here with the development.

Movies?

Yeah don’t get too excited like I did. I figured maybe they could actually make something interesting. At least utilize animated ROBLOX character models. Or invest into the new ROBLOX “Video library” feature that is under testing. No, definitely not. That would just be too much work, my goodness! Instead, I found myself staring at a screen viewing something that I haven’t witnessed since around 2010-2011. What was that? A picture that would change to a different picture every 5-10 seconds. Wow, amazing movie. This wouldn’t even fly in the 50’s.

What About The Map?

Right, the map. Uh, well. I suppose it as one of the more flattering aspects of the game – however something that I still could have developed within a very reasonable timeframe, with a development team of myself and one other builder. However – it maintains the appeal to younger ROBLOX player’s that are in it for the “roleplaying.” Which is just, a whole different topic. Within my 5 minutes in-game, I was making sure I hurried to get any pictures I needed for this article, and getting out of there immediately.

What is there to even say about this one? Couldn’t utilize ROBLOX’s Union service? Or you know, being a “modeler” as the “primary developer” claims himself to be, maybe render up a model in blender? Right; once again, that’s just too much work! Well, I think we’ve seen enough of the building & scripting sections of development.

The Community & Roleplaying,

Check out my alien baby my dude’s! Or – whatever this is supposed to be, I guess. Here we see multiple free models being utilized by the Developer for tools. Once again showcasing his amazing talents as a “modeler” – bravo!

To be honest, I’ve never been a fan of ROBLOX Game’s promoting being parents, especially virtual parents. As what can this lead to? Online dating, and overall cringe. Don’t believe me? Well…

“yes mom” – “wanna be my girl” – “wake up, please” – “yes mom (x2)”

I’m sure I could have scrolled up more and found even more, but this is literally the first thing I seen once I opened up the ROBLOX chat. At this moment, I looked around just a bit more to make sure that I’ve gathered all of the pictures I needed for this article and information. Well, that’s when I was greeted by uh – this.

Thanks? But no.

GAME RATING

GAME DESIGN: 4.5/10

PROGRAMMING: 2/10

GAME FEATURES: 3.5/10

OVERALL RATING: 4/10

I must say, I was pretty disappointed with this game. I had high hopes with the high player count I noticed, and 90% rating. Just to be let down a lot. I have no ill-feelings against roleplay games whatsoever. Adopt Me & Royal High are fine as they actually put in a lot of work towards their games. You can tell right away by their design, and features that they hold. However this game just looks like absolute minimal effort overall. So much, that I am literally contemplating making a better version of this game & releasing it; just to prove how lazy this developer is.

ROBLOX announces Display Name update

With the ROBLOX Developer Crowns update in release, along with the Group Payout restrictions update released – comes ROBLOX announcing another update in the works.

“When can we expect this update?”

ROBLOX has announced that they will be rolling this new feature out slowly over the next few months. It is unknown how exactly they intend on rolling this feature out “slowly,” especially in terms of how much of the update they will release at once. It will certainly be interesting to see how they introduce this new – and quite game-changing update over the next few months.

Analyzing the update (Pro’s/Con’s)

As seen in the screenshot, instead of having a display name as your username which would show all the numbers – you can easily shorten it up utilizing the display name update. There may be one flaw with this though, as ROBLOX stated:

“Display Names are not unique. With the introduction of this feature, your Display Name is what will appear in places such as chat, player lists, or over your in-game character’s head.”

With that being said; impersonation becomes a bit of a worry. Especially if they plan to have display names be your identity via the player list, chat, and over your in-game character’s head. How is it then, that we will be able to identify who is actually who? Along with this, what if two user’s have the same exact display name? Wouldn’t that become a bit confusing.

I nearly love almost all of the updates ROBLOX has been rolling out here, but to be honest – this update seems useless, and more of a problem then anything. It’s definitely amazing for players to have the option of “changing their name” in-game for free. However it just feels as if this stirs up more issues, than solves. Their only reason behind this update thus far being:

” Gone are the days of being CoolRobloxFan43732 – now, you can simply be CoolRobloxFan!

That’s awesome, cool, right? But, why not just create a username that doesn’t have all of those numbers in the first place? ROBLOX has millions and millions of players actively playing on their platform, so of course usernames are limited when it comes to uniqueness. Yet there is still so many combinations to create when it comes to having no numbers or weird characters in them.

Conclusion,

I personally find this update useless, and more of a problem then anything else. As a writer, I am trying my best to see the benefits of this update – which I see, but I also see another solution for. I predict that issues with impersonation and users having the same display name in-game will arise from this. Maybe you think differently? Let us know in our Discord Server!

The latest ROBLOX survival game,

Are you in need of a new game to play on ROBLOX? Do online games such as Rust, an ARK Survival peak your interest – but don’t want to pay 10+ $ for the game’s? This may be the game for you!

Today we dig into one of the newest game’s rising up on the ROBLOX platform, taking over the survivalist category when it comes to graphics, gameplay, and overall content.

What makes this game stand out?

  • Immersive, dynamic lighting gameplay.
  • Enhanced graphics, utilizing textures made by the creators.
  • Addicting gameplay
  • Easily customizable building system

In the world of Dust (very similar to Rust, hence the name we assume.), the beginning of your life is simple, you start off with a stone shiv. In this image, it will show your the stone shiv we are talking about; however our character had a custom skin that we may or may have not spent R$ on to obtain. (Who can blame us?)

This stone shiv is very important towards the beginning of your gameplay – the primary goal if you’re a player looking to get a base built right away, is to use half of it’s health on stone, and half of it’s health on wood. This should get you enough to create both; a stone hatchet, and a stone pickaxe.

From there it feels like the grind never ends, with the immersive world of Dust you just can’t help but continue to grind away on the game. Wanting to have the best base in the server, the best clan, the best everything! Of course we forgot to mention, any base you build in this game will save! However, you’ll need to make sure you place a Basic Workbench down inside your base to prevent it from decaying.

The Rage,

As much as we may make this game out to be so addicting. With addiction, comes side-effects. These side-effects include: Screaming at your PC, Possibly throwing objects, potential toxicity coming from yourself, and overall dedication to thrive in the brutal world of Dust.

In dust, combat is key. You may get lucky and get a small 1×1 starter base set up right away. Or, you may get killed a bunch of times while out farming and grinding away to get your small base started. It all depends on how far away you are from hostile players.

Conclusion

Everybody has their preferred “style” of games to play, however this game can be fun for everybody. I myself prefer not to play “sweaty games.” However; after plenty of times getting killed, and non-stop grinding. I found myself with a 4-story high compound base. Sure, I’m absolutely horrible at combat – but I still had fun developing my base and using my friends combat skills to my advantage.

There is so much to say about Dust that we could have included here, but we figured we would keep it “short and sweet” while giving you the overall concept of the game. Build, survive, fight, defend. Even though my unhealthy 24+ hours spent in game building my base went to waste after a clan raided me overnight. I can’t help but admit, Dust is still one of the most impressive games introduced on ROBLOX in terms of gameplay & content.

8th Annual Bloxy’s, RIght around the corner!

It’s that time of the year, the time where we sit back and watch another animated Bloxy Awards show on ROBLOX. It’s a bit crazy to believe that it’s been 8 years of the Bloxy’s existence, yet impressive how far they – and ROBLOX’s platform overall has come.

With the Lil Nas X concert that was hosted on ROBLOX last year, displaying ROBLOX’s true capabilities when it comes to animations and animated effects. Who knows if this award event will be much different from last year. Last year’s Bloxy’s were quite dull in our personal opinion. With it just being a video displayed on a screen within an “arena”, if you want to call it that. We can’t help but wonder if this year it will be similar to the Lil Nas X concert, where the animated characters will be there right in front of us. Making the experience much more immersive. Rather then watching the bloxy’s through a screen, through another screen.

What We Know So Far

It’s been confirmed that the Bloxy’s will be live Saturday, March 27th. As of right now, all of the voting is being done at a ROBLOX game which you can find HERE.

Screenshot from the Voting Center

After visiting the voting center and voting myself, I was a bit disappointed to be completely honest. It feels like the past couple of years, we’ve had the same nominee’s. “Wild West, Adopt Me, etc.” – along with content creator’s I’ve never even heard of; same with the YouTube videos. At this rate, all we can hope for is a good performance for the 8th Annual Bloxy’s.

ROBLOX Introduces “Developer Crowns”

Amidst all the recent updates to ROBLOX; ROBLOX begins rewarding their developers even further!

In the past year or so we have seen amazing updates such as the Premium Payouts feature, where Developer’s earn R$ that can be cashed out for real-life currency. Just from player’s with premium playing their game! Of course, this all depends on the amount of time they play the game for, and some other aspects in order to calculate the currency. What made the premium payout feature even neater, but inconvenient for free-players? That would have been that Developer’s then had a whole new update to the platform where they could add in-game benefits to their game specifically for players whom had premium.

Now this new update here is in regard of “MAU” which stands for Monthly Active Users. This update allows ROBLOX Developer’s to get exclusive ROBLOX Crown’s for having a successfully actively played game on ROBLOX.

What makes this stand out?

This is really smart on ROBLOX’s end, as this is giving developer’s more of an initiative to increase player-activity within their game. (As if the Developer Exchange program wasn’t enough?). This update just goes to show that even though ROBLOX can lack in some area’s of their platform. They are always capable of adding exclusive update’s that are easily hyped up by the community.

Now I get it, you may be pointing out the Developer Exchange program quite a bit at this point. That’s understandable. But what’s important here is the exclusivity. I am willing to bet that almost all of the new upcoming developer’s will be rocking their Developer crown’s as soon as they earn them. ROBLOX’s Virtual Item’s have always had value & demand behind them. With these crown’s only being available to ROBLOX Developer’s with a minimum of 100+ Monthly Active Users; and the highest one being a whopping one billion monthly active users. These crowns are truly exclusive.

Why the crowns though? What about the ROBLOX Badge’s?

It’s been years, and when I say years. I mean YEARS, that the “Homestead” and “Bricksmith” badges have been around. However there’s no further badges to obtain in relation to popularity of your game? Don’t get me wrong, the concept of the crowns is amazing. Myself, as a developer, will be grinding away to obtain the best crown’s I can get my hands on. However, it just feels as if the ROBLOX Badges section has been neglected by ROBLOX for quite awhile. If you’re going to provide ROBLOX Badge’s – why not provide more to achieve, to further developer engagement. When I speak of developer engagement here, I am speaking in terms of new developers. Matter of fact, new players. New players that now have small – to large things to work for.

In terms of rewards, there can always be more. But at the end of the day, ROBLOX has added another fabulous reward system for their developers.
