group payout restrictions

ROBLOX has added a good handful of updates this week, not long before the 8th Annual Bloxy’s. However, we’ll be touching up on a specific update today, and that’s the Group Payout restrictions!

Maybe you’re a Developer, or just a friend trying to give somebody ROBUX. If that’s the case then you may have been one of the first to notice this new, and pesky update added to ROBLOX Group’s. Which includes this error:

Why?

The only reason we can truly find behind this update, is to prevent people from easily re-selling their ROBLOX through “black market” sites. If you’re not aware already, there is multiple websites where people utilize API’s & cookies to automatically sell R$ through group funds, or even send trades. Although selling limiteds seems to be still up for grabs, this new update surely puts a damper on selling ROBUX.

At the end of the day however, these people selling R$ are dedicated. Automated R$ sales or not, they will surely wait the alleged 4-5 day wait in order to sell their ROBUX. Though it is possible that some may just give up in general. This is all tough to say as this was a new update added only a few days ago.

Downside

As a developer who utilizes graphic designers from the ROBLOX DevForum; and being one who pays them via Group Funds. I myself have already ran into an issue with this new system, as I now have to have them be in the group for 3 days in order to pay them. Which 1. Makes the process of working for new clients more complicated for the designer/modeler. and 2. Makes the process of paying the designer/modeler along with receiving the product, more complicated for the purchaser.

Conclusion

I personally, am interested to see how effective this is – and if it will affect the ROBLOX economy at all. I can guarantee that this will certainly trouble any R$ sellers, whether it stops them or not in the mean time. I would like to see a feature added for Developer’s where they are capable of paying for models/images though. Something along the lines of the trading system, but instead you purchase an asset they have uploaded via R$. (And yes, you could argue that you can sell assets for ROBUX in the ROBLOX Library.) However, I am speaking in terms of private sales – which it would be similar to the Trade System’s design in that sense. Adding the capability of purchasing multiple assets at once.

Here’s an example I made real quick of the general concept:

Seller sets the price of their models, the system adds up the total and tells you how much you pay – you Accept/Deny, and possibly counter?

Even though my concept will most likely never be seen on the ROBLOX platform; it’s still an idea to ponder on.
